Flame is the second personal short film project of Handbird artist Felicity Rogers following the production of Dream Within a Dream.

Funded by Creative New Zealand's Screen Innovation Production Fund, Flame is a surreal short multimedia dance film utilising film footage of tango dancers
and musicians combined with a computer animated environment and effects.

Flame is currently under production, due for release in 2007.

Flame is about the fiery passionate emotions expressed through Argentine Tango. The music conducted by the wind, stirs up thoughts and memories as slowly an imaginary dance hall is constructed.

Inside these fragile walls a lone candle comes to life as the candlewick unravels to form a male dancer. With the strike of a match he is joined by his other half in the form of a flame. Together the dancers tango on top of the candle battling against the force of the wind to remain as one.
